I work with the unpredictability of watercolor to reflect the ambiguity I see in memory and the body’s relationship to space. Each piece is shaped by the material’s autonomy and my willingness to listen. My work gathers the quiet, listening with its edges. The unspoken becomes shape and the shape becomes memory. I do not seek to explain. I seek to cradle the moments when the self is neither one nor another, but multiple layers. The act of becoming.
